Pooja of Dil To Pagal Hai

About Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is celebrated for her dancing. In Yash Chopra’s Dil To Pagal Hai (30 October 1997) she is Pooja, who believes that someone, somewhere, is made for her (Yash Raj Films).

On screen

Dil To Pagal Hai paired her with Shah Rukh Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Akshay Kumar. In 2000 the painter M. F. Husain directed her in Gaja Gamini, and in Anil Mehta’s Aaja Nachle (2007) she is Dia, a dancer in New York who returns to the small town where she learned to dance, to save its old theatre from demolition.

Earlier, in 1989, she appeared in Umesh Mehra’s Vardi and Mujrim, both now in the Red Chillies catalogue.

Dil To Pagal Hai is, in Yash Raj Films’ words, a grand musical about passionate people with dreams.

Our advice: watch Dil To Pagal Hai for the dance numbers, set to Uttam Singh’s music.
