Om Shanti Om to Jawan
About Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone starred with Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om (9 November 2007), a glittering tribute to Hindi cinema in which two people murdered in the 1970s find their story retold thirty years later (Red Chillies).
On screen
She starred with him again in Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express (2013), Farah Khan’s Happy New Year (2014), and in 2023 in both Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan and Atlee’s Jawan. In Pradeep Sarkar’s Lafangey Parindey (2010) she is Pinky.
Our advice: watch Om Shanti Om for its love letter to old Bombay cinema.
Om Shanti Om opens with a promise: for some stories, one lifetime is not enough.
