National Film Award, Best Actress
About Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt was jointly named Best Actress at the 69th National Film Awards, announced on 24 August 2023, for Gangubai Kathiawadi (the Government of India’s Press Information Bureau).
On screen
Two of her films come from Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment: Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi (2016), in which a budding cinematographer, Kaira, meets an unconventional thinker played by Shah Rukh Khan, and Jasmeet K. Reen’s Darlings (2022), the story of a quirky mother and daughter.
Our advice: watch Dear Zindagi for a gentle, modern Mumbai story.
In Dear Zindagi she plays Kaira, a young cinematographer in search of a perfect life.
Selected films
Dear Zindagi (25 November 2016), directed by Gauri Shinde
Darlings (5 August 2022), directed by Jasmeet K Reen
Release dates and directors are from the films’ pages on the Yash Raj Films and Red Chillies Entertainment websites.
